Workshop Leader: Fox’s Rigging Team
Choosing and using modern ropes can be a minefield and in this workshop, we will lead you through the choice of different ropes for different purposes and we will also learn the techniques required to splice them. The workshop will cover the following areas:
- Introduction to modern ropes and materials
- Explaining the different types of rope and their use on board
- Practical demonstration of splicing
- Have a go at splicing – we’ll provide a kit for each participant to have a go
- Splicing kit – what you should carry on board
